Event description

Krakow Center for Human Relation, with support of Jagiellonian University Extension, O. Centre and OPUS - an Organization for Promoting Understanding of Society invites for Group Relations Conference (Re)Discovering our Roles: Rituals and Renewal.

How to to be fully alive in today's world? Rapid changes in technology, global disruptions, and evolving social environments (both in and out of work) can lead to feelings of isolation and fragmentation. Structures can seem more fragile, and authentic leadership can be difficult to find. Are we merely bystanders, or can we actively shape our roles?

In response, how do we create spaces to restore hope and repair our connections? How can we rejuvenate ourselves internally, enabling us to build strong relationships that confront reality, foster community, and reclaim our core values? Where can we find the personal and collective leadership necessary for such times? How do we shift from withdrawal to relating?

We invite you to explore these questions through experience at the
"(Re)Discovering our Roles: Rituals and Renewal" Group Relations Conference in Kraków, Poland. Utilizing the group relations approach, we'll engage with these themes emotionally and intellectually, using them as resources for learning and growth.

Please join us in Kraków from 10 am on Thursday, April 3rd,
to 3 pm on Sunday, April 6th, 2025.

What is a Group Relations Conference?
Group Relations Conferences (GRCs) have a long tradition. The GRC model was developed by the Tavistock Institute in London in the 1950s and has been used around the world ever since. It is based on the assumption that actual learning about social groups, organizations and processes takes place through experience - of oneself and others in the social system.

The GRC conference is a temporary educational institution. It aims to provide participants with a variety of opportunities to learn, based on their own experience, about the processes that are taking place - here and now - in this “temporary institution”. By allowing participants to emotionally experience themselves and others in the group, take up various roles and reflect on the importance of these processes,  valuable learning can occur in areas such as leadership, authority, followership, group functioning,  and the impact of the wider system.

Group Relations Conferences are suitable for all who are interested in the dynamics of groups, organisations and society.
